Message from Dr. Hines

I am Dr. Eugenia Hines, Russian/Jamaican Dentist who has been practicing dentistry in Jamaica for more than 10 years. I was born and raised in Russia, St. Petersburg. I also went to dental school while living there. I wanted to become a dentist from I was in grade 9. There are no other dentists in my family. I thought that dentistry would be an ideal profession for me because I loved to help people and I always have been very creative. Dentistry is an art and science where one cannot exist without the other.

I Graduated in 2009 and decided to come to Jamaica full time. My father is Jamaican and my mother is Russian. I used to visit Jamaica almost every summer and I fell in love with Jamaican people, culture and of course, the weather.

Currently, along with having Family ComfyDent, I work with the Government of Jamaica, and I specialize in Dental Implants with Atlantic Dental Implant Seminars, Linkow Implant Institute and American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. I also a member of Dental Council, Jamaica, American Dental Examination (ADEX) and Commission on Dental Competency Assessment (CDCA). I am an examiner of dental licensure examination in all districts where CDCA body facilitates the exams.

From 2011-2018 I was teaching dental students at the College of Oral Health Sciences, University of Technology, Jamaica. That experience has given me many opportunities in a personal, professional and social development. I was a chairman for Caribbean Institute for Strategic Planning and Research in Oral Health Symposium in two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017. I have been a committee member for organizing Oral Cancer Walk/Run during the same period. And recently I have received fellowship of International College of Dentists that recognizes outstanding professional achievements and meritorious service.

I am also a member of Jamaica Public Dental Surgeons and Jamaica Dental Associations. I have received a diploma in Spanish as a foreign language at Venezuelan institute. During my spare time I like to read, go movies and dance salsa.

So I would like to welcome all English-speaking, Russian-speaking, and Spanish-speaking patients. The motto of my dental office is “no more fears, no more tears”. I would love to provide the most comfort and the best care to my patients not only professionally, but also mentally.

I see many patients who have a serious fear of dentist. I carefully evaluate those patients and try my best to deliver the treatment in the most gentle and painless way. I am very patient, welcoming and easy to get along with. I love to see my patients smiling when they are leaving my office.

I know that there is a lack of oral health care in Jamaica and I hope I can change that by providing excellent services to the public.
